We live near Bakers Corner just west of highway 31 at 236th street, Sheridan, IN. On Jan 2nd at about 2:30 pm I was working outside at our alpaca farm and was shocked to see a huge flock of herons flying south at about 1,000'. We must be on their migratory flight line since we have seen them for several years in a row in different groups about every 20 to 30 minutes apart, but we have never seen them this late! Often it is in the late fall around late October or November and usually on a much warmer day. Where is their location from which they fly up north and how far do they go? Also we wondered if we were the only ones who saw them or if others in your society caught a good look at them. It is always remarkable to us also that we can hear them calling from such a high elevation. Sincerely, Mel Robinson 317-507-4189 Submitted By: mel robinson

Hello from the "BIG SKY COUNTRY" One question I have to ask. What happen to Dorthy Bucks Indiana birders Lists: Indiana--North America--World?? It is usually in the November issue of the Quarterly. On a brighter note this past summer to be exact June 5, 2010 I saw two adults and one young Hawk Owl at the Northern Rocky Front of which is about one half hours drive from where I live in Fairfield, MT. It was the farthest southernly nesting site for this species in Montana. What a sight it was a thrill indeed. Please answer my request above, it is not the same without this part of the Quarterly. Cold and snowy here this past week and some ahead of us. A big high to my birding friemds back in Indiana and the Indiana Audubon Society. Good birding, Larry Carter Submitted By: Larry Carter

All I'd like to know is 2 simple things. 1. What are the 2 gorgeous birds that you have on your home page at the top? They are black, white & red. 2. I reside in Indiana & just seen a bird that I think may be a chicadee, but unsure. I couldn't see the face, but the top of its head & back is a brilliant black & tapers to its back into a point, on either sides of this point is a white stripe & then the rest is all gray with what looks to be outlines of black. The back feathers were really pronounced with the trim of black. A very stunning bird, I must add. Thank you for your time. Submitted By: Lusha

I've tried to donate to the Mary Gray fund, but each time I enter my credit card info, this message pops up: "You cannot use an e-mail address or card number that belongs to an existing PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account, please log in. If you don't, please change the e-mail address or card number and try again." I want to pay by credit card, not by PayPal. Help! Submitted By: Bill Murphy

Hi, just a few suggestions: A donate button on the front page would be easier to find than where it is under "About IAS." The fund to choose for donations is "below", not "above" in the instructions. The choice for sanctuary operations reads (new brid) rather than (new bridge) when viewed from Google Chrome. Bill Submitted By: Bill Cummings
