The Breakwall

The harbor breakwall is present in the distance on the left side of this photo. This breakwall is often covered with scores of gulls and shorebirds, and thus should be carefully scanned at each visit.

NIPSCO Beach and Mount Baldy

NIPSCO Beach is seen just beyond the concrete wall on the west side of trail creek. This beach can be easily scanned with a scope from the spot where this picture was taken, which is at the base of the jetty. In the distance to the right, the sands of Mount Baldy are visible along the shoreline.

Trail Creek

To the right of Trail Creek is NIPSCO property. Note the cooling tower on the far right, and the tallest smokestack near the center of the photo. This tallest smokestack has a peregrine nest box that is visible from the harbor. To the left of Trail Creek is Washington Park.
