- a review of the book Birdwatcher: The Life of Roger Tory Peterson
and some gorgeous color photographs. Click here to download it as a pdf file.
Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary Activities
- Wildlife Survey
Ball State professors and grad students have begun their wildlife study at Mary Gray. They would like our help. The first phase will monitor birds, trees, shrubs, and wildflowers at stations throughout the sanctuary. At more than 700 acres Mary Gray is big enough to need several volunteers from Indiana Audubon. If you are pretty good at identifying birds and/or plant species and would like to either help set up monitoring stations or be a wildlife observer, please contact Professor David Leblanc by writing him at dleblanc at bsu.edu. This will be a great way to see more of the sanctuary and help with this valuable research. Time you could give in spring or fall, when university classes are in session, would be most beneficial.
